Get engaged with your local community and strengthen your network by taking advantage of our curated volunteer and community service assignments that are both fun and rewarding. For every assignment completed through LiiNCS, you’ll earn an endorsement and/or recommendation from both LiiNCS and the participating organization, and credits towards awards and other public recognition.

Volunteer with a Purpose


We’re firm believers in building skills and building networks. Our community service projects revolve around skill based service, allowing you to learn new skills and apply them immediately, or back your existing ones with real-world experience.

Personal and Professional Growth


Our volunteer coordinators and project managers work together to benchmark your progress throughout your assignment. You’ll earn LinkedIn skill endorsements and/or recommendations based on your performance, opening doors for future opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer with the American Cancer Society at Large Events such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay For Life. Available positions include:

  • Hold a committee position to coordinate and execute event
  • Day-of Logistics
    • Opportunity to help secure, train and organize day of volunteers

Social Media Trailblazers are responsible for helping to spread the mission of the American Cancer Society (ACS) through social media platforms. This project combines content creation with retention and recruitment strategies.

Help teach English to adult immigrants at Family Service League of Long Island’s Bay Shore or Huntington Station Family Centers. Tutors range from advanced college students to business professionals to retired teachers. Two-hour classes, mornings or evenings.

Prior teaching experience not required. Volunteers are required to complete a 4-hour training program, available in Monday or Wednesday evening classes held in Huntington Station.

Ombudservice (Services and Advocacy for Seniors) – Make a difference in the lives of your neighbors who live in Suffolk County’s long-term care homes. Volunteers are trained as advocates for residents living in nursing homes, adult care homes, and family-type homes. Volunteer ombudspersons visit an assigned home once a week to help residents and their families understand and exercise their rights to quality care and quality of life.

Volunteer with Family Service League  in Bellport to help address the serious problem of Underage Drinking and Substance Abuse on Long Island, in conjunction with the COMPASS Unity Coalition and the Country School District community.

Participate in Eager to Serve, Inc.’s mentor program in Freeport designed to help teenagers ages 13-15 to develop into secure, responsible, conscientious young adults through peer mediation, cultural arts, academic enrichment and business experience.
